An overtime winner from Taylor Heise clinched a 4-3 win over the Toronto Sceptres in Game 4, sending the reigning champion Minnesota Frost back to the PWHL finals.

After scraping into the playoffs by the barest of margins, the Frost now have the opportunity to win the first two PWHL titles after knocking off the No. 2 seed at the Xcel Energy Center.

They will face the winners of the other semifinal between the Ottawa Charge and the Montréal Victoire, with Ottawa currently holding a 2-1 series lead.

The winning goal on Wednesday came 16 minutes into overtime, with Heise sending the crowd into raptures.

Toronto had taken a 2-0 lead part-way through the second period, but Frost captain Kendall Coyne Schofield halved the deficit, before Kelly Pannek tied things up 2-2.

The Sceptres quickly regained the lead through Emma Maltais at the start of the third, only for Coyne Schofield to score again, sending the gamme into overtime.

After the game, Frost head coach Ken Klee said: “This is a testament to the group. You look at the leaders Kendall (Coyne Schofield), Lee (Stecklein), and Kelly (Pannek) first and foremost as our captains and our goaltenders are experienced and veterans, and then we have our young players like Taylor (Heise), Britta (Curl-Salemme), Sophie (Jaques) and adding Claire Thompson to our group.

"We have a young group and we have a veteran group and they’ve been in these situations a lot. They don’t get rattled by it."
