The Avalanche are shoring up their defense, according to reports.
Colorado is acquiring defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forward Jimmy Vesey, and prospect blueliner Hank Kempf from the New York Rangers for Calvin de Haan, Juuso Parssinen, a conditional second-round pick, and a conditional fourth-round pick. The trade details are from Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic and TSN.
Lindgren, 27, is a left-shot defenseman on a one-year contract. He makes $4.5 million and is eligible to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if Colorado does not re-sign him. New York is retaining 50% of the remainder of his deal. He has two goals and 19 points this year.
Vesey, a depth forward, has struggled offensively this year. He has four goals and two assists in 33 games.
More to come.
