The Montreal Canadiens have signed Kevin Mandolese to a professional tryout (PTO), according to hockey insider Frank Seravalli.

Mandolese, 25, spent the 2024-25 season in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles, the minor-league affiliate for the Colorado Avalanche. In 19 appearances, the Blainville, Que., native posted an 11-6-0 record with a .903 save percentage (SV%) and 2.87 goals against average (GAA).
In five AHL seasons, Mandolese has recorded a 39-34-5 record with an .898 SV% and 3.20 GAA in 85 regular-season games with the Eagles and Belleville Senators, the Ottawa Senators’ AHL affiliate.
He’s also appeared in 15 ECHL regular-season games across three seasons with the Atlanta Gladiators and Allen Americans, going 6-7-1 with a .921 SV% and 2.77 GAA.
Taken by the Senators in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Mandolese spent four seasons in the QMJHL, playing for Cape Breton when the team was known as the Screaming Eagles, and when they changed their name to just the Eagles. In 151 career regular-season games, Mandolese posted an 86-41-8 record with a .900 SV% and 2.96 GAA.
His best season came in 2019-20, going 26-8-1 with a league-leading save percentage of .925 and a 2.33 GAA, third in the league, in 37 games. He was named a QMJHL First Team All-Star and was a finalist for CHL Goaltender of the Year.
The Canadiens finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 40-31-11 record and 91 points, placing fifth in the Atlantic Division and earning the Eastern Conference’s second Wild Card spot. They were eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Washington Capitals in five games.
