One of the strangest NHL stories to emerge since the league shut down in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic involves Washington Capitals forward Brendan Leipsic.
As noted by Jorge Alonso of blog BroBible, private NSFW comments allegedly associated with Leipsic's Instagram account were leaked on Wednesday afternoon. In those comments, Leipsic supposedly mocked current and former teammates, and he called some current linemates "losers."
The individual also took shots at the wife of former teammate Tanner Pearson.
Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic suggested the Capitals are aware of the situation, and that Leipsic is the guilty party:
More on the Brendan Leipsic situation, per a #Caps spokesman: “We are aware of the unacceptable and offensive comments made by Brendan Leipsic in a private conversation on social media. We will handle this matter internally.”
