The Wild and Predators are in serious discussions about a trade revolving around veteran forward Gustav Nyquist, according to an X post from national NHL reporter Pierre LeBurn on Saturday.
Nashville and Minnesota are talking about a potential Gustav Nyquist trade, per sources, which is why he's being held out today. But the trade is still not done. Could be a complication. Let's see where it goes.

Nyquist has 21 points this season for Nashville, with 9 goals and 12 assists. He appeared in three games for the Wild in 2022-23, but he could provide some veteran depth for Minnesota this season as they look to make the playoff push.
Both LeBrun and the Athletic's Michael Russo have pointed out that there could be some complications before the trade is officially completed. Russo pointed out that available roster spots could be one of the biggest issues Minnesota could face.
Not saying it's this, but one complication could be available roster spots. Suspended Ryan Hartman occupies one. #mnwild have 2 injured defensemen (Brodin/Bogosian), so they may need to recall a D (David Jiricek?). They're juggling a lot with little flexibility to their roster https://t.co/KbRFv8QmTP

The NHL trade deadline is not until March 7, so Minnesota and Nashville will have less than a week to get the deal done.
