Ryan Reaves Blasts Former GM Brad Treliving and The Maple Leafs After Shock Trade

Ryan Reaves had a rough stretch with the Leafs, but after a trade to the San Jose Sharks, he's opened up on the tumultuous time in Toronto by calling out Brad Treliving.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are having a busy off-season, and after shipping Mitch Marner to Vegas in a sign-and-trade, they moved another veteran this week, dealing Ryan Reaves to the San Jose Sharks.

Given how little playing time he got, this deal shouldn't have come as much surprise, and after the deal, the veteran forward opened up on the frustration that he felt throughout his time as a Toronto Maple Leaf.

'Just a lack of trust very early... I had one bad game & I was out of the lineup for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 games. I'd come back in, have a good game, but taken right back out. I really could never gain any momentum.'

Reaves notes that the trust between he, Brad Treliving and Craig Berube wasn't present, as the team would take him out of the lineup after one bad game, despite signing him to a three-year deal, with frustration mounting throughout his time there.

As for the fans, most are thrilled with Treliving for his recent actions, as many called out Reaves for being a key piece that convincing Mitch Marner to move to Vegas, with those same fans thanking Treliving for how he handled this situation.

Ultimately, this was the right move on the part of Treliving, especially with no room for Reaves in their current forward group, and with the clear frustration from both sides over a multitude of issues, everyone can now move on to bigger and better things.
