Ticket resellers, better known as scalpers are already trying to exploit the passing of Johnny Gaudreau after resale values go through the roof.
As the hockey world continues to mourn the passing of Johnny Gaudreau along with his brother Matthew, it didn't take long for scalpers to exploit Gaudreau's passing in order to make a profit.
Johnny Gaudreau passed away in tragic accident at 31-years-old after being struck by an alleged drunk driver.
According to a fan account on X the presale for the Calgary Flames versus Columbus Blue Jackets game on December 3rd is already sold out. However, not only is it sold out, the prices of the tickets have been marked up through the roof and tickets have reappeared at outrageous prices.
Ticketmaster is notorious for letting resellers buy and mark up the prices of their tickets taking them out of the hand of real fans. This is no different. The cheapest tickets you can find according to the post above are $170.40 at the press level, which is ridiculous.
It just goes to show that not only does Ticketmaster have no shame for letting this happen, but people will stop at nothing to make some quick money. Even exploiting the tragic passing of a great hockey player, son, brother, father, husband and friend.
