The Maple Leafs are rolling against Florida thus far, and now Scott Laughton has opened up on his running battle with Panthers star Brad Marchand.

With a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference Semi-Finals matchup, the Toronto Maple Leafs are full of confidence heading into Game 3 as this series shifts back to Florida for two crucial games that could define this series.

There's been plenty of sub plot stories throughout the two games of this series, and the battle with veteran Brad Marchand for the Maple Leafs has been one of those, with many veterans in Toronto continuing their long rivalry with the former Boston Bruins captain.

That continued in Game 2 as Marchand exchanged words with veteran Scott Laughton on the bench in the Maple Leafs victory, with the veteran forward opening up on his ongoing battle with Marchand.

"Yeah, we've gone at it quite a bit throughout my career. So, yeah, it's nice. For myself, it gets you into the game a little bit. Yeah, it's good.

I probably talked a little bit too much when I was younger, and then I kinda reined it in. You have different little things with guys throughout. It's just a little bit of chatter."

Unsurprisingly, the two have also had a battle in their career before they ended up in Florida and Toronto, with Laughton absolutely loving the intensity that his battle with Marchand has brought in this series.

Ultimately though, the Maple Leafs won't want to do too much talking given their playoff history, but if they can finally get past Marchand and the Panthers, don't be surprised to see plenty more talk after the series.
