Today, the Seattle Kraken and Philadelphia Flyers swapped AHL forwards. The Kraken are trading David Goyette to the Flyers in exchange for forward Devin Kaplan.

Goyette spent last season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where in 51 games he had ten points on three goals and seven assists. He was a plus-three with 73 penalty minutes. He’s appeared in 108 games over four seasons with the Firebirds. He had 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. He was a plus-seven with 95 penalty minutes and a power-play goal.
Kaplan made his debut with the Phantoms last season. He appeared in 49 games, where he had 13 points on five goals and eight assists. He was a -13 with 62 penalty minutes. The Flyers drafted him 69th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He’s appeared in one game for the Flyers, where he was a minus-one. Before the Phantoms, he spent three seasons at Boston University, where he appeared in 115 games, recording 64 points on 25 goals and 39 assists; he was a +16.
The Phantoms drop the puck on Saturday against the Hartford Wolf Pack at home. The Firebirds open tomorrow night at home against the Ontario Reign.
