Shane Pinto and Friends Show No Mercy

The Ottawa Senators cruised to a 7-4 win over the Seattle Kraken Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena, showing off some depth and flair along the way. Shane Pinto led the charge with a goal and two assists, while Joel Farabee chipped in two goals and an assist of his own. It was one of those nights where everything clicked offensively for Ottawa, and even with Seattle putting up a fight, the Senators kept their foot on the gas.

Seattle jumped out early with Jacob Melanson scoring just 8:45 into the first, but Ottawa quickly answered. Tyler Kleven tied it less than a minute later, and Dylan Cozens put the Senators ahead before the first period was even done. From there, Ottawa just kept adding pressure, and goals kept coming from Amadio, Pinto, Tolvanen, Foegele, Stutzle, and Tkachuk. The game had plenty of scoring, but it never felt sloppy—the Senators were moving, cycling, and finding open ice.

Why it matters: Ottawa has now won three of four and extended its point streak to six games (4-0-2), keeping itself solidly in the playoff conversation.

Senators Positive #1 – Shane Pinto Takes Over

Pinto was the engine tonight, driving the offence and setting up teammates with precision. His goal in the second to push Ottawa to 3-1, and his assists on Kleven’s and Amadio’s goals showed just how much he’s grown into a leader on this team. When Pinto’s skating and vision are clicking, the Senators are hard to stop.

Senators Positive #2 – Newcomers Made an Impact for the Senators

Two new faces, Ryan Strome and Warren Foegele, immediately fit in. Strome, who arrived in Ottawa just that morning, scored and assisted in his debut, showing no signs of jet lag. Foegele got his first goal in a Senators uniform and looked comfortable in all three zones. It’s not often new players mesh this quickly, and it’s a great sign for the depth Ottawa can lean on down the stretch.

Senators Negative #1 – Seattle Remained a Threat the Entire Game

Even in a blowout, Seattle created chances and kept the game close at times. Jordan Eberle’s two assists and Matty Beniers’ goal reminded Ottawa that defensive lapses can be punished, even against a team they dominated most of the night.

Senators Negative #2 – Senators Came Away with Injuries

Jake Sanderson left with an upper-body injury, and Jaden Schwartz was evaluated late in the first period. These are things to watch. Losing contributors, even briefly, could impact consistency in the coming weeks.

The Bottom Line for the Senators

Ottawa’s offensive depth was the story tonight, with multiple lines contributing and newcomers making an instant mark. The Senators are rolling right now, and if the scoring stays this balanced and players stay healthy, they’re going to be a handful in the playoff stretch. It’s a reminder that depth and chemistry can make a big difference, even when the scoreboard gets busy.
