Sidney Crosby Becomes All-Time Leader in Points Against Flyers

With the opening goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins in their second contest of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers, Sidney Crosby made some history.

Crosby’s opening goal not only gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead, but set himself apart as the all-time points leader against the Flyers.

The goal was Crosby’s 125th career point against the cross-state rivals and the most of any player in NHL history.

Crosby’s 125 points are split through 85 games, 54 goals, and 71 assists; he has points in 15 of the last 16 contests against the Flyers.

Ever since breaking into the league in 2005, Crosby has always given a little extra effort against the Flyers and the numbers speak for themselves.

Obviously, 125 points is the most in NHL history, but 54 goals is also good for the most of all time against the Flyers; two more assists will give Crosby the all-time lead in helpers, as well.
