The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche are ready to square off in a win-or-go-home game tonight as the epic series comes to a close. Dallas has the home-ice advantage entering Game 7, giving them a potential edge.
This series has gone back and forth, with each side throwing punches at the other. The Avalanche were able to stave off elimination in Game 6 following a strong offensive attack.
For many hockey fans, this series has been extremely exciting, offering drama to all who have paid attention. Even current NHL players have been paying attention, with Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby offering his thoughts on the upcoming Game 7.
“It has been great hockey,” Sidney Crosby, watching from afar, told The Athletic via email. “Fast, physical and both teams have had times of controlling momentum. Top players have contributed and goalies have had their moments of making big, key saves. It’s playoff hockey and only fitting it would go seven games between two solid teams like this.’’
This game will be the fourth time that these two teams have met in a Game 7, with the Stars taking each of the previous three games. The Avalanche will be looking to rewrite some history in this contest.
