After playing in his fourth Stanley Cup Final this past season and winning his second championship, Brad Marchand has a new contract. The veteran has agreed to a six-year contract to stay with the Florida Panthers. The deal is worth a little under $32 million total.

Marchand Re-Joins the Panthers

Marchand joined the Florida Panthers after spending 16 seasons with the Boston Bruins. Playing with another team for the first time in his career, Marchand helped the Panthers reach their third-straight Stanley Cup Final. Furthermore, Marchand scored the overtime-winning goal in Game 2, tying the series at the time and paving the way the Panthers to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions.

For Marchand, his appearance in the Final was his fourth of his career. Marchand’s first was in 2011, when the Bruins were victorious in seven games. Marchand played a big role in the championship with two goals in Game 7. Marchand was not as lucky in 2013 and 2019, as the Bruins fell in the Final both times. Marchand even played a part in the eventual series-winning goal in 2019, when he left for a line change too early, allowing Alex Pietrangelo to get open and score.

In 2025, Marchand was on the right side of history in more ways than one. Marchand’s contributions earned him consideration for the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Career Accolades

In 1,100 regular-season games, Marchand has scored 424 goals and added 556 assists. In addition, Marchand is a two-time All-Star who has regularly received votes for the Selke Trophy.

Following the retirement of Patrice Bergeron, Marchand was named the Bruins captain, an honour for someone who had spent so much time with the organization and accomplished so much.

Role With Panthers

At 37-years old, Marchand’s career is winding down. However, he is still consistently scoring 20+ goals a season. His experience is another attribute he brings to his Panthers squad. In addition to his experience in the Stanley Cup Final, Marchand helped Team Canada win the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship earlier in the year.
