While it’s not the big one, the Stars continue to take care of some of their pending restricted free agents.  The team announced today that they’ve re-signed forwards Harrison Scott and Matthew Seminoff to two-year, two-way contract extensions.  Financial terms were not disclosed but PuckPedia reports (Twitter links) that both players will carry cap hits of $875K at the NHL level with $100K AHL salaries next season and $150K in 2027-28.

Scott joined Dallas back in 2025 as an undrafted free agent after wrapping up his college career at the University of Maine.  After putting up 35 points in his senior NCAA year, the 25-year-old had a decent first professional season with AHL Texas, notching 18 goals and 14 assists in 72 games during the regular season.

As for Seminoff, he was a sixth-round pick by the Stars back in 2022 out of WHL Kamloops.  After putting up 82 points in his final season with the Blazers, production was hard to come by in his first two professional campaigns as he managed just 24 points in 126 games with Texas.  But Seminoff was a breakout performer in 2025-26, finishing second on the team in scoring with 24 goals and 26 assists in 72 games.

Both Scott and Seminoff are waiver-eligible for the first time next season.  Neither player will likely contend for a roster spot in Dallas in the fall but Seminoff’s strong showing this season and cheap contract could make him a candidate to be claimed.

With these signings, GM Jim Nill still has plenty of restricted free agents to deal with.  While Jason Robertson and Mavrik Bourque are the headliners, there are a total of 11 pending RFAs on their roster at the moment.
