The Dallas Stars have recalled a pair of forwards ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Islanders. Dylan Hryckowian and Matthew Seminoff have been brought up to the NHL squad. This is notably the first time that either player has been called up to the NHL during the regular season. The duo could both have a chance to play on Sunday with Sam Steel expected to sit out, and David Perron questionable, per Owen Newkirk of DLLS Sports.

Hryckowian and Seminoff have both been integral parts of the Texas Stars’ offense through the early season, both scoring at a point-per-game pace so far. Hryckowian ranks second on the team in scoring (eight points) while Seminoff ranks third (seven points).

For Hryckowian, the hot start continues the strong performance he pulled together after joining Texas last Spring. He posted nine points across the first 17 games of his professional career, including the AHL regular season and postseason. That scoring came after Hryckowian wrapped up hi junior year at Northeastern University, marked by 37 points in 30 games. He scored at, or above, a point-per-game pace in all three seasons at Northeastern. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound winger has always faced an uphill battle due to his size – but overcomes it with powerful skating and explosive bursts. He seems to have the making of a high-energy, gritty NHL forward. His first test could come next to his older brother and Stars teammate, Justin Hryckowian, who has no scoring through 10 games this season.

Seminoff has been in the pro ranks since the 2023-24 season. He had a slow start after a productive WHL career, notching just 15 points in 70 games of his first AHL season. Those woes continued into his second season, prompting a brief move to the ECHL that seemed to motivate the young winger. He was red-hot through the 2025-26 season, notching 24 goals and 50 points in 72 games to finish second on Texas in scoring. His stick has stayed hot through the start of this season, pushing Dallas to test his talents at the top level. He will become the 39th skater with ECHL experience to play in the NHL this season if, and likely when, he makes his NHL debut.
