After a quiet free agency on July 1st, Craig Conroy said his focus was going to shift to the two remaining restricted free agent forwards, Connor Zary and Morgan Frost. Today, Conroy signed Morgan Frost to a two year deal at an AAV of 4.375M:

Frost was acquired alongside Joel Farabee from the Philadelphia Flyers in January in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, CGY’s 2025 2nd round pick, and a 2028 7th round pick. Farabee is signed for another three seasons at an AAV of 5M.

The 26-year old had 3 goals and 12 points in 32 games with the Flames after being acquired. Frost joined the first powerplay unit as the puck carrier. As the Flames centre core of Nazem Kadri and Mikael Backlund age out, Frost will be an important piece to hold the middle-six together for the next two seasons. He should be a solid 35-40 point defensive centre, potentially replacing Mikael Backlund’s spot in the near future.
