On a solid Saskatoon Blades squad, David Lewandowski 7th in scoring on the team. Primarily a left winger, Lewandoski is listed as a 6’1, 177 pound forward. Lewandowski is said to possess a great shot who’s gritty along the boards. A perfect player for playoff hockey.
Season | Team | League | GP | G | A | P |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2023–24 | Essen ESC Wohnbau Moskitos | GerObl | 13 | 1 | 9 | 10 |
2024–25 | Dusseldorf EG | DEL | 7 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
2024–25 | Saskatoon Blades | WHL | 52 | 15 | 24 | 39 |
This is a great bet to make in the fourth round if you’re the Oilers. Most mocks had Lewandowski ranked in the top 100 so there is some value here to this pick. Lewandowski does lack speed in his skating so the Oilers development team definitely needs to work on this area with him. But with the size and shot he brings, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him become a good third line winger in the future.
The plan for Lewandowski is to head back to Juniors for the next two seasons for Saskatoon before going to Bakersfield. He will also be eligible for the German U20 World Junior team.
