The 'Most goals in NHL history' quiz

After 22 seasons, the NHL’s all-time leading scorer is saying goodbye.

Washington Capitals legend Alexander Ovechkin announced that 2026-27 will be his  final NHL season. While the wording of his statement leaves room for him to play elsewhere when his contract runs out at the end of the season, with a return to his former Russian club Dynamo Moscow rumored.

Ovechkin is the most prolific goal scorer the NHL has ever seen, with 929 to his credit in the regular season and another 77 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He’s 12-time All-Star, nine-time Richard Trophy winner for the league’s leading goal scorer, three-time NHL MVP and won the Conn Smythe Trophy along with his lone Stanley Cup in 2018. Now 41, he’ll get to make a farewell tour of the league before moving on.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ovechkin passed Wayne Gretzky on the NHL’s all-time goal scoring list on April 6, 2025 against the New York Islanders. With that being said, can you name every player to score at least 600 NHL goals?

Good luck!
