The 2026 Stanley Cup Finals have gotten off to an insane start.

After the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes split 2-0 comeback wins in Raleigh, VGK coughed up a 4-0 lead in Game 3 before handing Carolina its first overtime loss of the postseason.

Despite the loss, Hurricanes fans should not only be happy with the rally but also with seeing Taylor Hall getting his first goal of the series. While he was a bit of a throw-in in the deal that (briefly) brought Mikko Rantanen to Carolina, the former first-overall NHL Draft pick and Hart Trophy winner’s 16 points led the Hurricanes in the postseason though the first three rounds. If the Canes are going to even the series in the unfriendly confines of T-Mobile Arena, Hall will probably play a role in it.
