Tomorrow marks the start of the first ever NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, with Canada, USA, Sweden and Finland competing against one another to determine who is the top nation in the National Hockey League.
Up until Tuesday, nobody had seen what the big prize of the tournament would be, but today, the NHL had the 4 Nations Face-Off Trophy on full display. Sportsnet's Luke Fox has shared an image of the slick new hardware.
The Maple Leafs have four representatives in the tournament, with Auston Matthews captaining Team USA, William Nylander wearing the 'A' for Team Sweden, and Mitch Marner slotting in on the top line for Team Canada.
Marner will open the tournament on a dangerous top line with Connor McDavid and Sam Reinhart. Meanwhile, Matthews Matthews is expected to slot in as 2nd line centre for Team USA with Jake Guentzel and Devils star Jack Hughes.
Prior to the start of the tournament, the favourites appear to be Team USA, who possess incredible depth at every position, especially in net.
Still, with each nation sending their best, nobody is a shoo-in to win the inaugural tournament. The action kicks off on Wednesday with Marner and Team Canada hosting Nylander and Team Sweden.
