The 'No.1 NHL Draft picks' quiz

The Carolina Hurricanes faced their first deficit of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs in Game 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers, allowing two goals in less than a minute in the first period of the contest.

But the Canes rallied with goals in the first and third period from Nikolaj Ehlers and Seth Jarvis, before veteran and former No.1-overall NHL Draft pick Taylor Hall scored the game-winner in overtime. Hall came to Carolina as part of the infamous Mikko Rantanen experiment at last season’s trade deadline, and his presence on the line with Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake has produced  tremendous results in these playoffs

The Hurricanes will look to continue their so-far undefeated Stanley Cup Playoff run and take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Flyers in Philadelphia on Thursday night.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Hall was selected with the top-pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Draft, but Monday night was the first overtime playoff goal of his 16-year career. With that being said, how many of the No.1 picks in NHL Draft history can you name in eight minutes?

Good luck!
