Nansi is one of the youngest players in the draft, born just six days after the cutoff.
He’s a project; an extremely young, flashy playmaker who needs to polish his game to move through the next levels. His year-to-year improvement is commendable, and his growth has been noted. At 6’3″, he once again fits Treliving’s style, but seems like a flashy offensive player with tons of upside.
Season | Team | League | GP | G | A | P |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2023–24 | Owen Sound Attack | OHL | 41 | 0 | 9 | 9 |
2024–25 | Owen Sound Attack | OHL | 67 | 7 | 16 | 23 |
This is the exact type of pick the Leafs should be making in the fifth round.
Nansi’s high-upside and offensive skill means he could be an absolute steal if he develops, and at 153rd overall, why not take a shot?
He’s a playmaker first and foremost, but has games where he looks unreal. He’ll take years to make any noise near the NHL level, but this is the type of swing you love to see in the fifth round.
Nansi will head back to Owen Sound next year, looking to keep up his growth and polish his defensive game.
Look for Nansi to put up really nice point totals moving forward, and he will no doubt provide some plays that make Leafs fans excited.
