The Dallas Stars' elite trio of Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Mikko Rantanen has just been ranked as the best forward line in the NHL, and the numbers behind their short stint together suggest they could dominate the league for years to come.

For all the hype surrounding individual stars across the NHL, it's rare that one line earns this level of praise before a season even begins.

But according to a new piece by The Hockey Writers, that's exactly what's happening in Dallas.

In a list of the NHL's top five forward lines entering 2025-26, the trio of Robertson, Hintz, and Rantanen took the No. 1 spot.

The Robertson, Hintz, and Rantanen line is already rewriting expectations for the Dallas Stars

Despite playing just 20 games together, the three combined for an eye-popping 165 points.

Hintz brings his all-around two-way game and elite skating to the center position, while Robertson remains one of the most creative scorers in the NHL.

Then there's Rantanen.

He hasn't even been in Dallas for a full season, but he's already changing the dynamic of this offense.

"Rantanen uses his 6-foot-4 frame to protect the puck, and his offensive instincts make him one of the league's most underappreciated weapons," wrote Devora Slonim in the article.

Together, the trio offers a rare blend of size, speed, finesse, and elite hockey sense.

I really believe this could end up being the best line the Stars have had since the Modano era.

If they stay healthy, it's hard to find a matchup that could stop them consistently.
