The Vegas Golden Knights overcame another one-goal deficit to earn their 12th come-from-behind victory in a 6-2 victory against the Seattle Kraken at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.

Forward Mark Stone scored with two assists. Fellow forwards Keegan Kolesar and Brett Howden each had a goal and an assist. Ilya Samsonov made 20 saves to improve Vegas to 22-8-3.

“We always talk about trying to use our depth. I think we’re at our best as a group when we’re able to roll through lines,” said Vegas defenseman Nicolas Hague, who also scored a goal. “When we’re making those little plays, and everyone’s pulling in the same direction, I think that makes us a pretty good team.

“We’re doing a good job right now. There’s still stuff we can clean up, but it’s nice to be coming on the right side of these games.”

Here are three takeaways from tonight’s game:

Training Buddies

Howden and Kolesar spend time together, working out in the offseason.

Their hard work, particularly this offseason, has really helped. The two have already set career highs in goals scored. Against the Kraken, their goals came within 71 seconds of each other to help the Golden Knights overcome some early struggles.

“It’s awesome to see how successful Brett’s having,” Koles ar said. “I saw it firsthand in the gym. We push each other all summer. We have a really good group in Winnipeg that complements each other very well.”

As for the secret to their workout regimen? Kolesar is keeping that to the group.

“I’ll keep our little slice of Winnipeg secret for now, especially what we do there,” he said.

 Comeback Kings

The Golden Knights rallied for their 12th come-from-behind victory, which puts them second to the Washington Capitals.

“We’re a pretty old team,” Hague said. “Guys have been around. There’s lots of experience. Always say never too high, never too low, and I think our group does a really good job of that. Whether we’re up one or down one, we know we’re right in the game. There’s certainly no panic on our bench when we give up the first one. Not that we like doing that, but we know we can clean stuff up and normally find a way to fight back into the game.”

Another Golden Knights Poor Start

Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy didn’t like the start from his team again.

“I didn’t love our start again tonight, and it’s something we’re trying to address,” Cassidy said. “When you address something, and it doesn’t change, that’s when, as a coach, you’re like, ‘OK, well, what do we know to keep working on it?’ Yet I love our middle parts of the game. We’re finishing games well. So you’ve got to be careful that you don’t forget about that.”

Cassidy said that the team could pull away in the game because of Samsonov.

“The chances were fairly even in the first period, even though we’re up 3-1. I thought our [goalie] was a little better than their guy in the first period,” Cassidy said. “So let’s not get ahead of ourselves as a team and think we’re outplaying this team or not. We’ve just gotten a couple of extra saves, and then they got a lot of saves in the second period, so I thought both goaltenders were pretty good, and then the third period kind of is what it is.”
