It was a quiet night in the NHL last night.

Only three games were on the schedule.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. The Rangers Need Samuel Montembeault

The Rangers recently signed James Reimer. Yesterday, he made his first start with New York, and let's just say it didn't go well.

He faltered on the first two shots of the game.

Welcome to the Big Apple, James.

He was pulled from the game after Drew Doughty's goal.

His replacement didn't fare any better.

He, too, gave up a goal on the very first shot he faced.

New York needs Samuel Montembeault.

Could he be of interest to the Blue Shirts when he returns in about two weeks?

2. Auston Matthews' 800th point

The Leafs were in Calgary last night, and it felt like a home game for them.

Half the arena was blue.

The Flames still won 5-2, and on top of the loss, Toronto lost Kirill Marchenko to injury.

Auston Matthews recorded a point in the loss.

He became the fastest Leafs player to reach the 800-point mark.

The second star of the week, Devin Cooley, continued his hot streak.

He was once again the hero of the game. He has simply been unstoppable over the last four games.

3. Michal Postava's First NHL Win

Late in the evening, the Wings were on the road against the powerful Oilers.

Late in the game, Detroit was trailing by one goal. Dylan Larkin forced overtime.

Edmonton had just taken the lead, however.

In the shootout, Michal Postava shut the door.

It was his first NHL win.

The undrafted Czech stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced and, most importantly, shut down Connor McDavid (one assist).
