Top 5: The Mammoth crashes into both Rangers goalies
Brad Penner-Imagn Images

Like most Mondays, it was a quiet night in the NHL.

Five games were on the schedule.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. The Mammoth’s goal: to hurt Rangers goalkeepers

In New York, the Mammoth and the Rangers faced off.

Utah won in overtime, 3-2, thanks to Sean Durzi’s goal. It was André Tourigny’s 20th win of the season.

The visitors’ game plan was clear: trouble the opposing goaltenders.

In the first period, JJ Peterka injured Igor Shesterkin.

His replacement Jonathan Quick was also targeted.

The goaltender didn’t appreciate Daniil But’s breakthrough.

2. Five-point game for Justin Sourdif

If you didn’t know Justin Sourdif before yesterday’s games, now it’s clearly a thing of the past.

Yesterday, he scored a hat trick and finished his game with five points.

He was the main contributor to a 7-4 win over the poor Ducks, who have been doing poorly lately.

Anaheim has lost its last six games and allowed 30 goals during that stretch…

In the win, Alex Ovechkin scored twice to become the NHL’s leading scorer at home.

He’s 86 goals away from the 1,000 plateau.

Connor McMichael also did well in the win, notching four assists.

3. Tim Stutzle extends his point streak to 13 games

In Ottawa, Tim Stutzle wanted to collect at least one point in his 13th consecutive game.

He finished the game with two assists.

However, it was the Red Wings who won by a score of 5-3.

Detroit regained first place in the East.

In the second period, Dylan Cozens brought the Sens to life.

But the goal by Lucas Raymond, who is surely very happy with the outcome of CMJ 2026, a few minutes later, hurt.

4. Kraken in elimination position

Things are going well for the Kraken lately. So good, in fact, that they’re currently in a playoff position (third in the Pacific).

Seattle has won its last three games and earned a point in eight straight.

Yesterday, it won 5-1 against the Flames.

This was captain Jordan Eberle’s 1100th NHL game.

He did not collect a point in the victory.

Calgary had opened the scoring, but thanks to Jacob Melanson, the tie was broken.

It was his first NHL goal for the player drafted in the fifth round in 2021.

No Kraken player collected more than one point in the win.

Philipp Grubauer stopped 41 shots.

5. Andrei Kuzmenko puts on a show

In the late-night game, the Kings and the Wild crossed swords.

With a 4-2 victory, Los Angeles won its last two games against Minnesota.

Andrei Kuzmenko put on a show in the victory. First, he scored a superb goal.

And late in the second period, he deftly fed his teammate for the easy net.

Los Angeles, however, lost the services of Anze Kopitar in the victory.

The captain, in his final season in the league, was injured and never returned to action.

Brian Dumoulin had two assists in the win, and Team Canada goaltender Darcy Kuemper stopped 33 of 35 shots.
