Trent Frederic bashes his former friend Matthew Tkachuk

Trent Frederic of the Boston Bruins and Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers seem to have been with one another.

Overall, this is actually quite surprising when you come to realize that Frederic and Tkachuk grew up together and were friends. However, just a few days ago, Frederic accused Tkachuk of breaking the hockey code after trying to start a fight while bailing at the last possible moment.

According to Blade of Steel, Frederic has made some more comments about Tkachuk that are quite telling. In fact, Frederic is now claiming that he simply is not friends with Tkachuk anymore. These are very strong words and they point towards a player who is simply fed up with the antics of a guy he once knew.

'If they don't want to fight, there's not much you can do about it. That's kind of the bummer part of it. It makes it more frustrating in that sense. We sure were (friends). I grew up with him since I was probably five. But yeah, it's probably been different the last couple of years. But yeah, we're family friends. It's business. I don't really care. Maybe when our careers are over, we can have a reconciliation. But right now, I can't stand him.'

Only time will tell whether or not these two ever become friends again. Today, the Bruins and the Panthers are playing each other again. This should prove to be a very interesting match for everyone involved. Hopefully, Frederic and Tkachuk can let bygones be bygones.
