TSN insider Ryan Rishaug has revealed Connor Brown's official plans heading into free agency, and depending on which side you're on, you may not like it.
As the Edmonton Oilers try to create cap space to sign Evan Bouchard to a long-term contract, there will be roster casualties. Connor Brown, a winger, will be among them, according to TSN's Ryan Rishaug, and will become a free agent.

This information was later confirmed by NHL analyst Mark Spector.
Brown signed with Edmonton during the 2023-24 season, rejoining former Erie Otters teammate Connor McDavid.
Brown fought through a sluggish beginning and some nagging injuries but chipped in with 17 goals and 42 points in 153 games for the Oilers, playing an average of 13:27 of ice time.
While not much of an offensive threat in the regular season, Brown became a solid depth player in the playoffs.
In Edmonton's consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances, he recorded seven goals and 15 points in 39 playoff games, with a +5 rating and 13:51 average ice time.
Competing teams that will be chasing Brown on the open market will be hoping he's turned the corner on his injury issues and can return to the form he displayed in Ottawa, where he scored 47 goals and 117 points in three seasons of 191 games.
Still, Brown is perhaps more of a bottom-six forward than an everyday middle-six, and though he'll ink a nice contract, it won't necessarily be that of a 20-goal guy.
