Victor Olofsson had a solid season for Vegas in 2024/25, and now as an un-signed free agent, he's been linked to two intriguing Canadian teams.
NHL free agency has all but come and gone, and while all of the big names are now off the board, there are some intriguing buy-low candidates that remain free on the open market.
One of those names is veteran winger Victor Olofsson, who had a solid campaign with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2024/25, tallying 15 goals and 29 points in 56 games played, showing that at a certain price, he can still be a very effective player in the NHL.
While he's now most likely to be a bottom-six winger in the NHL, we are just four years removed from a 20-goal, 49-point campaign from the 29-year old, meaning that teams seeking value for their bottom-six could do a lot worse than Olofsson.
Now, two Canadian teams have been linked to the talented forward, with NHL Trade Rumours naming the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs as two teams that could use the help in their bottom-six that Olofsson could still provide at this point in his career.
With both teams having plenty of talent, it's unclear exactly how Olofsson would fit onto their roster, but with injuries being an issue around the NHL, teams can never have too much depth, especially with hopes of deep Stanley Cup Playoff runs.
Ultimately, it seems like only a matter of time until a team takes a shot on Olofsson, as he could be had for very cheap and used up-and-down a lineup, so while he remains un-signed now, don't be shocked to see several teams try and bring him in over the coming weeks and months.
