Two-Time Calder Cup Champion Signs with Ottawa Senators

Two-time Calder Cup Champ goalie Hunter Shepard is signing with the Ottawa Senators. It’s a one-year, two-way contract. He may end up playing with the Belleville Senators of the AHL. Regardless of where he plays, it’s a great signing for the Senators. In 39 games this season with the Hershey Bears, he went 23-11-4 with a 2.80 goals-against average, a .891 save percentage, and three shutouts. Shepard in one game with the Washington Capitals, suffered the loss, giving up seven goals on 26 shots. In seven Calder Cup Playoff games, he went 2-5-0 with a 2.77 goals-against average, a .893 save percentage, and a shutout.
