Tyler Madden – acquired in the Tyler Toffoli trade in 2020 by the Kings – has been traded to the Minnesota Wild for defenseman Joseph Cecconi. Madden, the main piece of that Toffoli trade, never suited up in a game for the Kings but amassed 128 points in 251 games in five seasons with the Ontario Reign. He’ll be reporting to Iowa (AHL), per Minnesota.
Cecconi has 14 points in 51 games for the Wild this year. The 27-year-old defenseman will bring much-needed depth on the backend for the Reign who have been without Angus Booth, Caleb Jones, and Cole Krygier lately.
The Reign travel to Iowa for a two-game weekend matchup on March 22nd and 23rd.
Thank you, Madds for all that you’ve contributed to the #ReignTrain over the years.
Wishing you nothing but the best! pic.twitter.com/2vjSOQZE5U
