The Vancouver Canucks are welcoming fans to their scrimmages ahead of the 2025/26 regular season, but now face backlash over high ticket pricing.
The NHL regular season is just over a month away from beginning, and unsurprisingly, fans around the league are getting incredibly excited about seeing their team in action once again.
For some fans, that means checking out some training camp action with their team, whether that be rookie showcases, open practices, scrimmages or pre-season action.
Unfortunately for Canucks fans, the usually cheap pricing for off-season activities has become no more, as the Canucks announced tickets for scrimmages and practices for the weekend of September 18-21 in Penticton.
What would usually be a cheap way to see the team will now reportedly cost fans, as the price for a scrimmage over the weekend has now been revealed as $40, with some tickets as high as $65 for the weekend, something that fans on social media were understandably furious about.
Fans can see practices for $13, but given that most would want to see their favourite players challenge each other in a scrimmage, paying $40 for that seems to be ridiculous, with other teams around the league not charging half of that for the same product.
Despite this backlash, it's likely that nothing will change, as some owners in sports have simply become too greedy for their own good, and after seeing the pricing on this compared to other teams rookie showcases and scrimmages, it's safe to say that this won't be worth the price.
Ultimately though, the team will stick to their guns as prices to see hockey continues to rise year after year, with Canucks fans getting the worst of it with these ticket prices.
