The Vancouver Canucks are being linked to multiple trade candidates during the early stages of the 2026-27 season.
According to The Fourth Period, the Canucks are among the teams linked to Columbus Blue Jackets forward Dmitri Voronkov, Washington Capitals forward Ivan Miroshnichenko, and Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary.
Seeing the Canucks being connected to Voronkov, Miroshnichenko, and Zary is not too difficult to understand. All three of these players are young forwards who have the potential to improve with a change of scenery. Thus, it makes sense that a rebuilding team like Vancouver reportedly has them on its radar.
Voronkov has been creating a lot of chatter as a trade candidate early on this season. The 26-year-old winger has scratched multiple times this season by the Blue Jackets this season has just two assists in eight games. Yet, when looking at his past seasons, he could make a lot of sense for a team like the Canucks to buy low on.
During this past season with Columbus, Voronkov recorded 17 goals, 32 points, and 105 hits. This is after he set career highs with 23 goals, 24 assists, and 47 points in 73 games in 2024-25. With numbers like these, he has shown that he can be an impactful power forward and would be intriguing for Vancouver to take a chance on.
Zary was placed on waivers earlier this season by the Flames and is currently playing in the AHL. In six AHL games with the Calgary Wranglers so far, the 25-year-old has one goal and four points. He also has one assist in two games this season for the Flames.
Zary had a down year with the Flames in 2025-26, as he had 12 goals and 25 points in 74 games. Yet, the 2020 first-round pick has been better in the past. As a rookie in 2023-24, he set career highs with 14 goals and 34 points in 63 games with Calgary. He also had 13 goals and 27 points in just 54 games for the Flames in 2024-25. Thus, Zary would be another fascinating player for Vancouver to bring in.
As for Miroshnichenko, he is the youngest player of this trio at just 22 years old. However, he also has the least NHL experience, as he has played in just 55 career NHL games with the Capitals. During them, he has recorded six goals and 14 points.
While Miroshnichenko has not been able to cement himself as an NHL regular, he still has time to change that. The 2022 first-round pick has plenty of skill, so it is fair to wonder if he could break out on a team that would give him more opportunities, like the Canucks.
It will be interesting to see if the Canucks' reported interest in these three players leads to them landing him from here.
