Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson made a major admission after throwing out the ceremonial 1st pitch at a recent Washington Nationals MLB game.

The acquisition of goaltender Logan Thompson by the Washington Capitals last summer proved to be one of the most underrated moves made by any NHL team thanks to what he was able to accomplish.

He had an impressive 31-6-6 record in his 1st year with the Capitals, helping them pick up the top spot in the Eastern Conference along with a a victory in the ECQF over the Montreal Canadiens before eventually falling to the Carolina Hurricanes in the ECSF.

Thompson threw out the ceremonial 1st pitch at a recent Washington Nationals game, and his conversation with pitcher Jack Irvin was picked up by microphones, during which he revealed he'd never actually thrown a baseball before.

Logan Thompson: Logan. Nice to meet you.

Jake Irvin: Nice to meet you, man.

Logan Thompson: Same to you.

Jake Irvin: It was fun to watch you this year, brother.

Logan Thompson: Oh, thanks! Appreciate that. Thank you. I've never thrown a ball before, so I'm going to be pretty

Jake Irvin: Are you serious?

Logan Thompson: Yeah.

Jake Irvin: [laughing in disbelief] All right. Ummmmm??

Logan Thompson: [laughs nervously]

Jake Irvin: Throw it hard, man!

Logan Thompson: I'm going to try and just -

Jake Irvin: Throw it farther than you think.

Logan Thompson: I'm trying to is it farther than you think???

Thompson and the Capitals will hope to defend their Metropolitan Division title this year.

The Capitals re-signed Logan Thompson to a multi-year contract

In January, the Capitals, recognized what they had with Thompson and decided to make him a member of the team long-term.

He was re-signed to a 6 year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $5.85 million.
