Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb called the 4-0 loss to the New York Islanders “uneventful.”
There were only 11 high-danger chances between the two teams, according to Natural Stat Trick and two penalties.
The Golden Knights were also limited by the Islanders’ forecheck and poor puck management in their own end.
Despite this, McNabb knows the team can bounce back after a lackluster performance.
“It was a pretty uneventful game, both sides,” he said. “We didn’t generate a whole lot, and the goalie played well when we had shots, so it is what it is, we’ve got to move on.”
Vegas also had a goal called back because the play was offside in the first period.
“You kind of had an idea, maybe it was [offside], when we saw it live,” McNabb said. “It was close, you know. It’s that sort of power play that can get some momentum, but it doesn’t count. That’s part of the game.”
The Golden Knights are scheduled to practice Friday, where they will likely review what went right but, more importantly, correct what went wrong.
Vegas has been solid all season after losses. They haven’t lost back-to-back games since November.
“We’ll go over it and fix what went wrong,” McNabb said.
