Who is looking for a front office position, and who might consider a move?

Nick Kypreos on Sportsnet: People who could be looking for a president of hockey operations job include Brendan Shanahan, Peter Chiarelli, Marc Bergevin, and Brian Lawton. Chris Pronger and Ryan Getzlaf are two others, but they don’t have the experience of the above.

The Nashville Predators are looking for more experience than Pronger and Getzlaf bring.

Doug Armstrong is stepping away from the GM position with the Blues, but remains as the president of hockey ops through 2028-29. If he were to leave the Blues, it would only be for both the GM and the president of hockey ops.

Candidates for front office work with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Anthony Di Marco: Some names who will come up during the Toronto Maple Leafs GM search. MLSE CEO Keith Pelley said that the next GM will need to be “data driven.”

Candidates likely to include Doug Armstrong (Blues GM, future PoHO), Chris Pronger (analyst), Jamie Langenbrunner (Bruins AGM).

Minnesota Wild director of amateur scouting Judd Bracket may not be GM candidate, but maybe interests in the Maple Leafs in a different role. Bracket could get some interest from the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks.

Jeff Marek: Keith Pelley had mentioned they’d like their next GM to be ‘data centric.’ When looking at assistant GM, candidates could include Tim Barnes (WSH), Tyler Dellow (CAR), Alexandra Mandrycky (SEA), Sunny Mehta (FLA), Darryl Metcalf (TOR).

Jeff Marek: Another candidate could be John Chayka.
