The Wild have executed their second trade of the day, acquiring veteran winger Nick Foligno, who now gets to chase a Stanley Cup in Minnesota with his brother Marcus.

Nick Foligno, 38, has just 11 points (three goals, eight assists) this season in 37 games for the Chicago Blackhawks, with Minnesota sending "future considerations" to Chicago to bring in the veteran winger.

The Wild are his sixth NHL team, after stints with the Ottawa Senators (2007-2012), Columbus Blue Jackets (2012-2021), Toronto Maple Leafs (2021), Boston Bruins (2021-2023), and the Chicago Blackhawks (2023-2026).

He has 608 career points (250 goals, 358 assists) in 1,270 games during his 19-year NHL career.

Nick will now team up with younger brother Marcus, who has played for the Wild since 2017. Marcus has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 48 games for Minnesota this season. He has tallied 218 points (97 goals, 121 assists) during his nine seasons with the Wild.

The Wild will likely see Nick Foligno as another veteran depth piece as they chase a deep run in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Foligno is the latest fringe/edge-of-the-roster move made by Minnesota over the past week. Earlier on Friday, the Wild acquired Minnesota native Bobby Brink from the Flyers. They also landed veteran center Michael McCarron from Nashville earlier in the week.

Wild fans have been eagerly anticipating a big trade during deadline day. However, indications are that Wild GM Bill Guerin is likely not to take a big swing ahead of the 2 p.m. CT trade deadline.

The team reportedly has an offer out to the Rangers for star center Vincent Trocheck, but it appears New York doesn't feel the offer meets their asking price.
