The Winnipeg Jets have extended qualifying offers to eight players today. The Jets chose not to extend qualifying offers to two players.
The two players not tendered qualifying offers were defenseman Simon Lundmark and forward Mason Shaw.
The Jets’ PR account on X made a post saying the team qualified all seven except Lundmark and Shaw, and didn’t list Kristian Vesalainen.
For the Winnipeg Jets, they qualified restricted free agents (RFA) Gabriel Vilardi, Morgan Barron, Rasmus Kupari, and Dylan Samberg. All players are arbitration-eligible, but the team will likely only bring back three, as Rasmus Kupari has signed a deal overseas in Switzerland.
The team only tendered Kupari a qualifying offer to retain his rights, and per Dave Minuk of Illegal Curve, they would do the same for Krisitian Vesalainen, as it’s the last possible season they can tender him a qualifying offer.

As for the players with the Manitoba Moose, Simon Lundmark and Mason Shaw were not tendered qualifying offers, as previously stated. The Jets qualified Parker Ford, Kristian Vesalainen, Isaak Phillips, and Tyrel Bauer. Lundmark, not qualified, was arbitration eligible, while Phillips and Ford, qualified, are also arbitration eligible.
This is Mason Shaw’s second straight season where he was not tendered a qualifying offer. The Jets signed him in the 2024 offseason to a one-year contract worth $775,000. Shaw played a leadership role with the Manitoba Moose. The 5-foot-10 forward from Wainwright, Alberta, posted 37 points (17G, 20A) and 114 PIMs in 72 games for the Moose for his first full professional season of hockey since 2021-22. It will be interesting to see how Shaw’s offseason shapes up.
The Jets still can sign Shaw and Lundmark for less than what their qualifying offer was. However, the free agency market may dictate that.
