The 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy has officially wrapped up, and it marks one of the most thrilling tournaments in recent memory.

NHL players returned to lay it on the line for their countries, and some returned to their NHL clubs with more hardware in their trophy cases. Others returned with the pride that comes with representing their country, and it perfectly captures the emotion from the first round robin game, all the way to the gold medal game.

Four Winnipeg Jets suited up in the 2026 Winter Olympics, representing three nations: Nino Niederreiter represented Switzerland, Josh Morrissey represented Canada, and Connor Hellebuyck and Kyle Connor represented the United States of America.

Niederreiter suited up for five games and recorded one goal, two PIMs, and was a minus-three in Switzerland’s fifth-place finish at the tournament. Switzerland lost 3-2 to Finland in overtime in the quarterfinal round.

Morrissey returns to the Jets having won a silver medal for Canada, but spent the majority of the Olympic competition dealing with an undisclosed injury. In just one game played, Morrissey was unable to record a point before being injured and unable to play for the rest of the tournament.

Connor suited up for the Americans in two games and was held scoreless in that time. He was healthy scratched in four consecutive games for the Americans leading up to the gold medal game.

Hellebuyck backstopped the Americans to the gold medal, while Connor was healthy scratched for four consecutive games in the Americans pursuit for gold.

He stopped 131 of 137 shots (.956 SV%) he faced in the tournament, and 41 of 42 (.976 SV%) in the gold medal game. This earned the Jets’ goaltender the nomination for best goaltender in the tournament.

The Jets return to action as they are set to face the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday, February 25th.
