The Winnipeg Jets have reduced their roster by six players, bringing the 53-man training camp down to 47.

Kevin He, Edison Engle, Jacob Cloutier, and Owen Martin have been returned to their respective junior clubs.

Alex Worthington has been released from his amateur tryout, and Ethan Frisch has been released from his professional tryout.

He returns to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), a team where he posted career-high numbers in 2024-25 of 75 points (36G, 39A) in 62 games. He, 19, added five points (3G, 2A) in five postseason contests for the IceDogs. The Jets drafted He in the fourth round (109th overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Engle heads back to the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The 6-foot-2 defenseman posted 13 points (2G, 11A) in 34 games, all career highs for the 18-year-old. He added four assists in seven postseason contests for Dubuque. The Jets drafted Engle in the sixth round (188th overall) in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Cloutier exploded on the OHL scene last season with a 47-point (23G, 24A) in 67 games played. After spending time in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2023-24, the Ottawa, Ontario, product made his mark as a reliable middle-six player for the Saginaw Spirit. The Jets drafted Cloutier in the seventh round (220th overall) in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Martin will make his way back to the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Oakbank, Manitoba-born center posted 34 points (13G, 21A) in 39 games played last season. Martin added 12 points (6G, 6A) in 20 postseason games played for Spokane. The Jets drafted Martin in the third round (92nd overall) in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Worthington has been a part of the Jets’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, on an Amateur Tryout Contract before finally signing an AHL deal this past offseason. Worthington most recently spent time with the Edmonton Oil Kings, posting a 22-18-2 win-loss record, a .902 save percentage (SV%) and a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.99 during the regular season. Worthington suited up in two postseason contests, posting a 1-1 record, a .879 SV%, and a 3.50 GAA. The undrafted goaltender spent the 2023-24 season with the Briercrest Clippers of the ACAC.

Frisch, also undrafted, spent time most recently with the San Jose Barracuda, posting 11 points (3G, 11A) in the 2024-25 season. The right-shot defenseman also spent four seasons in the NCAA playing for the University of North Dakota. He also spent two seasons in the USHL, split between the Green Bay Gamblers and Fargo Force. The Moorhead, Minnesota, product turned pro in the 2022-23 season after joining the San Jose Barracuda. The 24-year-old spent three seasons in San Jose before signing an AHL deal with the Manitoba Moose.
