Winnipeg Jets Sign Vladislav Namestnikov to 2-Year Extension

The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Vladislav Namestnikov to a two-year extension, the club announced Saturday morning (Feb. 22). This extension, which begins in the 2025-26 season, will pay the 32-year-old an average annual value (AAV) of $3 million per season.

Namestnikov is in his third season as a member of the Jets where he has compiled a total of 23 goals and 76 points in 150 games played with the team. He was acquired at the trade deadline in the 2022-23 season from the San Jose Sharks.

This season, Namestnikov has continued to act as a utility man for the Jets, playing a key role in the forward group. In 52 games this season, he has 10 goals and 29 points. His career high came in 2017-18 when he recorded 48 points in 81 games.

Now in his 12th NHL season, the former 27th overall selection in the 2011 NHL Draft has compiled 136 goals and 327 points in 760 games spread across seven different teams. In 57 playoff games, Namestnikov has tallied 14 points.

After beginning his career with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Namestnikov has made stops with the New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, and Dallas Stars before returning to the Lightning in 2022-23. He was dealt to the Sharks that season but did not suit up for them before he was acquired by the Jets.

Namestnikov has also represented Russia internationally, suiting up for both the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, finishing fourth, and the 2017 World Hockey Championship, winning bronze.
