Amber Glenn entered the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics as a highly decorated figure skater representing the United States. The 26-year-old added the ultimate feather in her cap with a gold medal in the team event. Glenn, however, came up short in the women’s individual free skate final. She was not able to secure a spot on the podium after finishing fifth.

Glenn was back on the ice on Saturday. There was no competition this time around, though. The three-time U.S. Figure Skating champion took center stage alongside some of the best figure skaters in the Olympics in the Figure Skating Exhibition Gala.

After a strong performance in the team event, Glenn faltered in the women’s individual short program. She had a critical mistake in her routine that ultimately led to a 13th-place finish with a score of 67.39. Despite her lackluster performance, Glenn still qualified for the free skate.

The Plano, Texas native redeemed herself in the medal round. She came out with an impressive bounce-back routine to record a season-high score of 147.52. She finished with a combined score of 214.91, which was good enough for fifth.

Glenn had another inspired performance in the Gala on Saturday. She mesmerized the capacity crowd in the Milano Ice Skating Arena, skating to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “That’s Life.”

Team USA sent a powerful message of support to Glenn after her encore.

“This moment is yours, @amberglenniceskater. ” Team USA posted on Instagram, sharing some photos of Glenn’s routine.

The Exhibition Gala is the final figure skating event in this year’s Olympics. Glenn will now head back home to the United States along with the rest of the contingent.

Glenn will return home with her head held high. Despite coming up short in the free skate, Glenn comes home as an Olympic gold medalist.
