The Paris Olympics already had enough fire in it with all kinds of controversies spilling out. However, towards the very end, the limelight shifted from Paris to the Australian breakdancing team who were called out for sending Rachel ‘Raygun’ Gunn to the Women’s Breaking Dance event at Paris.
Moves that were denounced by the entire break-dancing universe were being performed by Gunn and now there are rumors that there might be a massive conspiracy behind the entire scene.
As questions continue to deluge the horizon about how Raygun managed to qualify for the Paris Olympics in the first place, the response from the country’s break-dancing authority, Australian Breaking Association said that she was the best that the country could offer. However, for obvious reasons fans and fellow break dancers have snubbed the answer.
There are more than ample points to underscore what went wrong with Rachel Gunn, but one of the most talked-about points in the last 24 hours state that she was not even in the top ten in the global breakdancing contests. Out of nowhere when the Oceania championships in Sydney happened, she managed to wipe out all her preceding woes and came first which helped her qualify for the event in Paris, as per the report of CNN.
That is not the end, however. Another theory suggests that Australian Breaking Association (ABA), the authority that was responsible in the first place to pick the ones who should be representing the country in the event was founded by Rachel Gunn and her husband, Samuel Free.
However, Sydney Morning Herald refuted the claims where Gunn pointed to her qualification as the breakdancer in the Summer Games after acing the Oceania championships, which according to her, was a really stressful contest. Gunn’s performance did find a mention in the iconic Jimmy Fallon talk show while Adele also pointed out that her performance was fantastic with a dash of humor.

Despite all the fire, all the controversies swirling around at the end of the day, it was a flamboyant Olympics closing ceremony that starred icons across the globe. Hollywood actor, Tom Cruise, came as the showstopper in Paris with a momentous jump off the roof of Stade de France that left the audience with their mouths agape.
It wasn’t just Tom Cruise who was a part of the Closing Ceremony but even the famous rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers took centerstage with another crackling display that left everyone grooving. Throughout the span of the Games, there were renowned names like Ariana Grande, Steven Spielberg, Sarah Jessica and many more, who frequented Paris to be in the prestigious audience.

Bears receive new stadium pitch from Chicago mayor
It might be too little, too late, but the Chicago Bears received a new pitch from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson about building the new stadium project in the city. The Bears are moving full steam ahead with the site in Arlington Heights. Mayor Brandon Johnson wants the Chicago Bears in Chicago During an appearance on 670 The Score, Johnson argued that the Bears “belong” to Chicago and wants to keep them in the city for the next 100 years. “Look, the Bears belong in the city of Chicago,” Johnson said on the “Rahimi Harris Show." “And I believe that people know that. There’s a tremendous momentum. As you know, Joe Mansueto with the Fire, we’re talking about hundreds of million dollars to build a new stadium. The 1901 Project on the west side of Chicago, you’re talking about millions of dollars of investments… “We’re on a nice little hot winning streak here. So, my door’s going to remain open. And the hope is that Chicago Bears fans will rally around this moment to challenge all of us to come together to figure out a path to make sure the 100-year history doesn’t end in this moment and we can set ourselves up for the next 100 years.” Johnson points to low crime rates in Chicago Johnson touted declining crime rates as a reason for the Bears to stay in the city. “Homicides are down 32%, shooting victims are down almost 40%,” Johnson said. “We’re seeing unprecedented levels of investment. So, my door still remains open. And perhaps because I am a Cubs fan, I just remain optimistic, no matter what the circumstances are. But they really do belong in the city of Chicago.” Johnson hasn’t had conversations with the Bears in the last two weeks. For now, CEO Kevin Warren and the organization are trying to get enough government support to start building in Arlington Heights as soon as possible. If Warren doesn’t get the help he needs, the Bears could again try to angle for lakefront property in Chicago.
Cowboys' problem with Micah Parsons may hand Steelers a franchise QB
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most-talked-about NFL organizations throughout the course of the 2025 offseason. One of the biggest headlines that was attached to the franchise involved a rare May trade that sent George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Many expected the wide receiver to be dealt before or during the NFL Draft, but after a move didn't occur, it was believed that he would play out the final year of his rookie contract in the Steel City. Now, he is teaming up with CeeDee Lamb in the NFC, and a duo has been formed that could be very dangerous. Unfortunately for fans of the Cowboys, the two wide receivers have not been the talk of Dallas' training camp. Team owner Jerry Jones is playing hardball with edge-rusher Micah Parsons, and the talented defender recently requested a trade. The decision not to pay Parsons yet has left Jones under intense scrutiny, given the fact that the pass-rusher is one of the league's best. Jones' recent comments also show how dysfunctional the situation has become. In a recent appearance on ESPN's "Get Up," respected analyst Dan Orlovsky found a way to relate Parsons' situation to quarterback Dak Prescott, insinuating that if Jones does indeed trade Parsons, Prescott's Super Bowl window in Dallas would close. "If they trade [Parsons], and I don't think they do, if they trade him, it declares the Dak Prescott era over," Orlovsky said. "This team has no shot of winning a Super Bowl without Micah Parsons. No shot, and if you're doing it, it's to acquire a ton of first-round picks, so you have the ammunition to go get an Arch Manning of the future." The Steelers are set to have 12 draft picks in 2026, which gives the front office plenty of options when it comes to bringing in the next franchise quarterback. Instead of drafting one, however, could an available Prescott be a target for general manager Omar Khan? Orlovsky believes trading Parsons away would upset the Cowboys' best players. "There's no way that you can go to your locker room with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, some of the first-round picks you have on your offensive line, Trevon Diggs, and go, 'Hey, go beat Philadelphia when you don't have Micah Parsons. Go beat the Rams when you don't have Micah Parsons.' Your locker room will sit there and go like, 'Oh, well you've obviously moved on, so we're going to start our process of moving on as well.'" Any team interested in acquiring Prescott would have to take a long look at his contract. Some of the cap hits are astronomical in the coming years, but Khan is known to be a guru when it comes to the finances in deals. There's no reason to believe that he couldn't make something work for Prescott if a trade were to happen during the 2026 offseason. Fans in Dallas shouldn't be panicking just yet, but there were already some rumors about Prescott's long-term position with the Cowboys during the 2025 offseason. Certain reports were eventually debunked because it was quite literally impossible for Jones to entertain the idea of dealing Prescott after the franchise altered the quarterback's contract. Prescott has a no-trade clause, but that can always be waived, especially if he is upset about how Jones moves forward. If the Cowboys trade Parsons and pick up a plethora of draft capital, and then go on to invest in a first-round signal-caller, Prescott may be requesting to be traded as well. That's a long way away from happening, but the Steelers immediately come to mind as a team that would likely be interested. The Steelers' best-case scenario would be the emergence of Will Howard It's not easy to make a name for oneself in the NFL, and it's even tougher for players like Will Howard who were drafted in the sixth round. Pittsburgh will be in the quarterback market once again in 2026 if Aaron Rodgers is serious about retirement, so it would be a fantastic development if Howard solidifies himself as the next starter in the Steel City.
Vikings offense has sizable hole following first-round WR's NFL ruling
The Minnesota Vikings will be without one of their top wide receivers for the start of the regular season. On Tuesday, wideout Jordan Addison was suspended without pay for the season's first three games after pleading no contest earlier this offseason to a "wet reckless" charge. He was initially charged with DUI on July 12, 2024 and pleaded not guilty to those counts on Dec. 3, 2024. In July 2023, he was also cited for speeding a reckless driving when going 140 mph in a 55 mph zone. During his first two seasons, Addison, a 2023 first-round pick (No. 23 overall), has 133 receptions, 1,786 receiving yards (13.4 yards per reception) and 19 touchdowns. During that span, only Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown have more receiving touchdowns. His absence is a blow to the Vikings offense, entering its first season with 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy as the starting quarterback. While McCarthy will still have arguably the NFL's best wide receiver, Justin Jefferson, to throw to during the season's first three weeks, Addison's suspension severely compromises the team's depth. Jalen Nailor, a 2022 sixth-rounder, should be in line for an increase in playing time. Last season, he played a career-high 51 percent of his available offensive snaps, via Pro Football Reference. Offseason free-agent signings Rondale Moore and Tim Jones, 2025 third-round pick Tai Felton and undrafted free agents Lucky Jackson and Silas Bolden could also be forced into more prominent roles. Last season, Moore missed the entire year after suffering a training-camp knee injury with the Atlanta Falcons, while Jones had just three receptions on five targets for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Felton and Bolden are rookies and might not be ready for heavy workloads, while Jackson is possibly having the best training camp of the group, recently making impressive plays on back-to-back days. Regardless of who takes Addison's snaps, the Vikings offense won't be at full strength to begin the season. Opponents will be able to focus their attention on Jefferson with double-teams and force Minnesota's unproven secondary and tertiary options to beat them. It's not an ideal set of circumstances for McCarthy as he preps for his regular-season debut, but the Vikings have no other choice than to make it work.
NBA Insider: Russell Westbrook, Jonathan Kuminga Could Join New Team Together
The potential landing spots for both nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook and Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga are perhaps the most pressing questions remaining this offseason. According to the latest report from two Sacramento Kings insiders, the pair could wind up joining forces in Sacramento this upcoming season. On Tuesday's edition of "The Dave Carmichael Show" on Sactown 1140am, Carmichael and co-host Jason Ross went as far as suggesting that Westbrook and Kuminga will likely have to be a package deal if Sacramento were to pursue either player. Kuminga and Westbrook to the Kings? Dave: "We do know this for the Westbrook thing to happen, the Kuminga thing would almost definitely have to happen. Ross: "I mean, so let's say Kuminga doesn't, then is that an off the table thing for us? Because, I mean you're already crowded in the backcourt, you wouldn't have lost a guard and now you'd be adding another one." Dave: "I think it is. I do. I think it is. Unless they found another deal. Is it, this is a deal we know about." Previous reports this weekend indicated that the Kings viewed a possible haul of Westbrook and Kuminga as a dream offseason. Golden State may have thrown a wrench in Sacramento's plans for Kuminga, however, as the team has reportedly shut down all sign-and-trade talks surrounding the 22-year-old forward and will instead look to keep him on the roster for next season. ESPN's Marc Stein reported last week that Kuminga preferred a move to Sacramento opposed to a return to Golden State after the Kings promised him a spot in the starting lineup. Kuminga saw a diminished role down the stretch of last season, largely due to a highly publicized mismatch between himself and coach Steve Kerr. "He wants to go," Stein said. "And the Kings are offering a starting spot. Power forward, next to Keegan Murray, next to Sabonis. He's talked on a Zoom call with Scott Perry, as you know, the GM, BJ Armstrong, the assistant GM, and also with their head coach. So he's in. He wants to go there. While Kuminga clearly desires an exit from Golden State, Stein also indicated that the Warriors aren't exactly jumping at the compensation offered by either Sacramento or Phoenix, the other frontrunner in the Kuminga sweepstakes. "But I think that first (round pick), the Warriors don't like the first. And then the Suns, I heard they're like offering Royce O'Neal in four seconds and Nick Richards. That's just not pretty enough."
