Dwyane Wade Has Awesome Advice for Anthony Edwards Amid Olympics
IPA

Even though LeBron James has been dominating the global stage as Team USA’s focal point on the court, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has also been a bright spot for the squad. This led former NBA champion Dwyane Wade to reveal the epic piece of advice he shared to the emerging star.

At just 22 years old, Edwards has already established himself as one of the NBA’s most exciting young talents. And now, he has taken his game to the international stage as the youngest member of Team USA.

His selection to the star-studded Team USA roster comes on the heels of an impressive 2023-24 NBA season, in which he was named an All-Star for the second year in a row and earned second-team All-NBA honors. He further solidified his status as a rising superstar with a standout performance at last summer’s FIBA World Cup, where he was the team’s best player during a third-place finish.

While the Timberwolves star will be sharing the court with NBA legends like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, he’s made it clear that he still sees himself as the number one option for Team USA. His combination of explosive athleticism, scoring prowess, and competitive spirit has drawn comparisons to a young Michael Jordan, though Edwards is quick to differentiate himself, noting his ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting.

Basketball fans can look forward to seeing the 22-year-old guard make his mark on the international stage. With his sights set on Olympic gold, Edwards is poised to cement his status as one of the game’s brightest young stars.

NBA Legend Dwyane Wade Reveals Epic Advice for Team USA’s Anthony Edwards Amid Olympics

Even before the Olympics started, Wade has spoken to Edwards about his upcoming stint for the national team. In a post shared by Marquette University’s Instagram account, the former Miami Heat legend revealed what he said to the Minnesota guard to prepare him for the Olympics.

Over the course of 79 games last season, Edwards averaged 25.9 points 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Those numbers increased in the playoffs to 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals as Minnesota reached the Western Conference against Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks.

With the Olympics now ongoing in Paris, Edwards is in a prime position to either show off on the court or learn from the established veterans before him. In any case, the Timberwolves All-Star is bound to become better after this experience.
