If you've been watching the 2024 Paris Olympics on NBC, you'd surely have seen legendary rapper Snoop Dogg on the screen at some point. NBC made Snoop a special correspondent for the Olympics and according to Henry McNamara, they're paying him $500K per day and covering his expenses as well.
"Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics. From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics - what a world."
Considering Snoop's extravagant lifestyle, those expenses won't exactly be low either. It speaks to how highly NBC thinks of the 52-year-old that he has gotten this kind of a deal.
To Snoop's credit, he certainly can't be accused of slacking after landing in Paris. He was one of the final torchbearers of the Olympics, carrying the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis in the north of Paris.
After that, Snoop has been spotted all over the place at the Olympics, as he has been the biggest cheerleader for American athletes. He also recently tried to learn how to fence from Olympian Miles Chamley-Watson and it was a hilarious experience.
Snoop was also on the bus with the U.S. men's basketball team at one point and has served as a positive presence at the grand event. The rapper is also thrilled to get to witness the action firsthand, after covering the 2021 Tokyo Olympics on Peacock during the pandemic.
Snoop and comedian Kevin Hart co-hosted "Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg," and the series proved to be a hit. It was thanks, in part, to that success, that he was given the role of special correspondent in Paris.
With the 2028 Olympics being held in Los Angeles, you better believe Snoop, who reportedly has a net worth of $160 million, will be offered this role for that one too. If they give him the same deal or an even better one than this, I don't see a scenario where he turns it down either.
