Winter Olympics betting guide: Sports, odds and angles

The Winter Olympics are about to begin in Beijing, with Opening Ceremonies scheduled for February 4.

Whether you love to watch the Winter Olympics or are looking for some betting angles to enhance your viewing pleasure, we've got you covered with this Olympics betting guide.

The two major sportsbooks, DraftKings and FanDuel, both offer a variety of sports and options to wager on. We'll consolidate a few of them here as you begin planning your favorite bets for the next two weeks.

Winter Olympic Sports/Events to Bet On

FanDuel appears to have a larger offering of sports results to bet on. Some competitions are team based, while others are on an individual level.

You can bet on a winner in the following Winter Olympic competitions:

  • Men's/Women's Snowboarding
  • Men's/Women's Ski Jumping
  • Men's/Women's Alpine Skiing
  • Men's/Women's Freestyle Skiing
  • Men's/Women's Luge
  • Men's/Women's Hockey
  • Men's/Women's Curling
  • Mixed Curling
  • Men's Bobsleigh

Many of the above have multiple competitions within their sport such as Snowboarding with their Slopestyle and Halfpipe events.

DraftKings also offers a few unique betting angles, most notably how many gold medals the United States will win. Their current over/under is set at 8.5 (-110). In 2018, the USA finished with 9 golds and 23 total medals.
