Stephen A. Smith got a big extension from ESPN this week.

Per The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Smith got a new five-year extension that's worth at least $100 million. He will continue to appear on First Take every week and other ESPN programs.

Smith discussed the news during Friday's edition of First Take, saying how grateful he is to work for ESPN.

"I love everybody that works on this show, the great producers behind the scenes that make us look so much better than who we are and what we are. I love all the contributors to the show. If it wasn't for them, the show wouldn't be what it is," Smith said

"I've got a lot things that I want to achieve, a lot of things that I want to accomplish in my life that extend beyond this show and beyond the world of sports. But it all starts here. I'm always happy to be a part of the Worldwide Leader. I'm always proud to be associated with this network, and I'm happy that I'm going to be here for a lengthy period of time for years to come."

“Stephen A. works incredibly hard to elevate the sports conversation day-in and day-out and we are grateful he will remain at ESPN,” ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a press release. “He is a difference maker, and fans are captivated by his deep sports knowledge, strong opinions, and unmistakable flair.”

In addition to his work at ESPN, Smith hosts "The Stephen A. Smith" show, where he discusses anything he wants to and even takes callers from listeners. He has discussed everything from video games to politics.

He will keep being one of the faces of the network and talk about sports each day on First Take and other programs.
