Stephen A. Smith offers pointed 2024 commentary on FOX News

In his regular appearance on FOX News' "Hannity" Tuesday evening, Stephen A. Smith criticized the Democratic Party for supporting the re-election campaign for President Joe Biden. The highly opinionated ESPN personality said that 2023 has been "utterly embarrassing" for the liberal side, and added more thoughts on who he would vote for in 2024 when the White House is up for grabs.

Smith's appearance came just hours after news broke that Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey and one-time colleague of former president Donald Trump, was making another run for president. Smith endorsed Christie, who tried to become a sports media personality in his own right after leaving the governor's mansion in 2017.

Yet his pointed comments about the Democratic ticket for the 2024 presidential election is what has right-wing media buzzing overnight and through Wednesday afternoon.

As transcribed by Mediate, Smith was "not impressed" by the Democrats:

"I’m looking at him and I don’t like what I see, I’m not impressed with what I see, and I’ve been very concerned with what I’ve seen, and the fact that he’s going to be 82 years of age at election time… if he were to win the election, then he’d be in the White House until he’s 86 years old. I think in the year 2023 it is utterly embarrassing that the liberal side has him as their best candidate. What does it say about you when that is the best candidate that you can give the left. That is ridiculous!"

Smith's wading into combative political discussions is nothing new; in fact, moving in and out of sports commentary is the basis of his podcast, Know Mercy. He once talked about what it would take for him to consider running for President and claimed that he was approached about running for a Senate seat in Pennsylvania.

Smith may not have problems not falling in lockstep with any particular group, yet it's uncertain if his megaphone will move anyone towards the voting booth for Christie or anyone else he will argue to the death for.
