The team selected the 22-year-old Winn with the second-overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft.
“I’m so excited to officially have the opportunity to play in Boston,” said Winn. “The city as well as teammates and staff have already welcomed me with open arms. I can’t wait to get things started and look forward to helping accomplish the big goal of bringing a Walter Cup to Boston.”
In 2024-25, Winn finished with 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points, second among NCAA defenders. She was named both the ECAC Player and Defender of the Year and a First Team All-American in 2024-25 and was a Patty Kazmaier Award finalist.
Winn spent four seasons playing college hockey with Clarkson University, scoring 37 goals and recording 94 assists for 131 points in 151 career NCAA games.
“Haley is a complete, two-way defender, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her in Boston for three years,” said Fleet General Manager Danielle Marmer. “She skates the game, has high compete and hockey IQ, and will be able to play in all situations. When we think about who is going to produce for us, defend against the best players in our league, or run a power play, Haley Winn can be an answer to all those situations.”
Boston finished the 2024-25 campaign with a 9-6-5-10 record and 44 points, finishing fifth in the PWHL standings and falling just short of making the Walter Cup Playoffs.
Hilary Knight, who joined expansion franchise PWHL Seattle in the offseason, led the Fleet in all offensive categories last season, scoring 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points in 30 games.
