Bulls match franchise record for threes in blowout win over Clippers

The Chicago Bulls could not be stopped on Tuesday night as they completely dominated the Los Angeles Clippers, 138-110.

The Bulls (21-22) trailed by five after the first quarter before outscoring the Clippers (19-24), 45-19, to build a big cushion by halftime.

Chicago led by as many as 31, largely due to its incredibly efficient night from long range, and had 40 assists on 52 made shots, making it difficult for the Clippers to keep pace all night.

The Bulls were 25-of-47 (53%) from behind the arc, tying the franchise record for the most three-pointers made in a game.

Guard Coby White led the way with 27 points (9-of-16 FG, 6-of-10 3PT) one game after hitting a season-high seven threes in Sunday's win over the Brooklyn Nets. Forward Matas Buzelis (21 points) and guards Kevin Huerter (14 points) and Ayo Dosunmu (18 points) tacked on four threes apiece to add to the long-range success.

The Bulls are tied with the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth-most made threes per game (14.4), but they only shoot a 12th-best 36.5%, making Tuesday night's historic output a bit of a surprise. However, they just hit 20 in the win over Brooklyn, too, so it is not like this was an outlier.

While the Clippers were 6-21 at one point, they had won six straight and 13 of their last 15, so it is not like they were a favorable matchup for Chicago entering the night. The Bulls had also alternated wins and losses in their last five games, so they had not exactly been playing their best ball, either.

With that said, they had no issues taking care of business against the Clippers on what turned out to be a historic three-point shooting night for a team still looking to take that next step.
